Job Description:

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Project Assistant – Hull & East Riding.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is the catchment host for the Hull & East Riding Catchment Partnership, which forms part of the County’s Catchment Based Approach work. The focus of much of the work is set in a farming context, with an extensive man-made drainage system linked to a network of flowing watercourses, although there is an element of urban focus within the city of Hull.

Role Purpose and Responsibilities

Deliver the Trust’s blueprint for nature’s recovery by liaising with farming communities and managing the regions’ spring-fed chalk streams, man-made drainage systems and wildlife recovery projects. Support the catchment partnership through volunteer and citizen science programmes, habitat management works, and thorough, accurate data management.

Qualifications and Experience

Comfortable working outdoors and using a range of manual tools. Ability to manage risk and communicate it to a variety of stakeholders. Digital literacy and a keen attitude to capturing and recording data. A passion for nature conservation, particularly wetland environments. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to sites and reserves.

Diversity and Equality

We are committed to creating a Movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential. We want our people to flourish, just like nature.
