Wet Farming Advisor (Peatland Progress)

Closing date: Friday 29 May 2026 Salary: £20 per hour Contract type: Fixed term Hours: Average 40 hours a month on an annualised fixed term contract for 15 months from July 2026 (may include weekend and evening working) Location: Corney’s Barn, Long Drove, Holme, Cambridgeshire, PE26 2SU

Overview

We are looking for two experienced peatland restoration experts who will go out to meet farmers and land managers, and share information about wetter forms of land management, particularly paludiculture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an events programme using a large exhibition trailer made from products that could come from high water table crops.
  • Engage with a wide variety of influential people, sharing knowledge of farming, peat and wetland creation techniques.
  • Maintain a good understanding of current grant opportunities and developing markets.
  • Plan, deliver, evaluate and report on the activity programme.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
