As demand for BNG solutions continues to accelerate following the implementation of mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain requirements under the Environment Act, BioMark is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Strategic Account Director to lead client relationships and drive revenue growth across the development and planning sectors.

The Strategic Account Director will be responsible for developing and managing high-value client relationships with developers, planning consultants, architects, infrastructure providers, and environmental consultancies requiring Biodiversity Net Gain solutions. This is a key commercial role focused on consultative sales, relationship management, pipeline growth, and long-term account development.

The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial instincts with a genuine interest in environmental sustainability and natural capital markets. They will be confident managing senior client relationships, navigating complex planning-led sales processes, and helping clients unlock practical BNG solutions that enable development while delivering measurable ecological benefits. They will thrive in a fast-moving growth environment and be motivated by the opportunity to help shape one of the UK’s most important emerging environmental markets.

Develop and manage strategic relationships with developers, planning consultancies, architects, local authorities, and infrastructure clients.~ Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation and qualification through to negotiation and contract completion.~ Provide consultative guidance to clients on BNG compliance pathways, unit availability, and delivery options.~· Build and maintain a strong pipeline of commercial opportunities within residential, commercial, and infrastructure development sectors.~ Collaborate closely with internal ecology, land, legal, and operations teams to deliver commercially viable solutions.~ Lead key account growth strategies to maximise long-term customer retention and repeat business.~ Represent BioMark at industry events, conferences, planning forums, and networking opportunities.~ Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and reporting metrics.~ Support the development of strategic partnerships with landowners, consultants, and regional stakeholders.

Proven experience in key account management, business development, or consultative sales. Strong commercial experience within one or more of the following sectors: Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), Environmental consultancy, Planning and development, Ecology, Natural capital, Land management, Property development, Infrastructure or utilities Strong understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain legislation and the UK planning process. Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles and high-value client relationships. CRM experience and strong commercial reporting skills. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally. Existing network within the UK development, planning, ecology, or environmental sectors. Knowledge of habitat banking, biodiversity units, or nutrient neutrality markets. Experience collaborating with local authorities, planning consultants, or housebuilders. Familiarity with natural capital markets and environmental policy frameworks.
