Surgical Key Account Manager – Ophthalmology (Glaucoma)

Location: South East

Sector: Medical Devices, Surgical Solutions

We are partnering with a global leader in ophthalmology to find a highly skilled Surgical Partner to join their team and take ownership of a dynamic and growing territory in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge surgical devices in a fast-paced, evolving market, and to build long-term relationships with key opinion leaders in the glaucoma space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a territory covering the North West, North East UK, and Scotland, working with both NHS and private accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to increase product adoption, driving sustainable market share growth for innovative glaucoma surgical solutions.
  • Provide comprehensive training and support for surgeons on glaucoma drainage surgery techniques and product usage.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with key decision-makers and medical professionals, including surgeons, nurses, and procurement teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service) to ensure effective execution of projects, market access, and promotional activities.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets while managing financial budgets and reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities for new business development and stay up-to-date with competitor activities and market trends.

Skills & Experience:

  • A strong background in surgical sales with proven experience in the operating room.
  • A history of top sales performance and a commercial mindset, with the ability to drive product adoption and influence decision-making.
  • At least five years of sales experience in a medical or pharmaceutical setting, ideally with exposure to hospital sales or key account management.
  • Experience in Ophthalmology is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with medical professionals and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in relationship building, negotiation, and strategic account planning.
  • Degree in a health or business-related subject or equivalent qualification (desirable).
