Company: Konker
Apply for the Project Architect
Location: Cambridge
Job Description:

Project ArchitectCambridge | £38,000-£42,000

A respected Cambridge architecture practice is looking for a Project Architect who can take a job and run with it. Someone ready to own delivery, lead a small project team, and be the steady point of contact clients and consultants come back to.

This is a project-running role, not a desk-bound one. You’ll pick up schemes through the technical and delivery stages, keep them moving on site, and have real autonomy to make decisions rather than wait for sign-off on everything.

The role: Project Architect

  • Running live projects day to day, from developed design through to completion on site.
  • Leading a small project team and coordinating the wider consultant group.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and design team members.
  • Handling contract administration, site inspections, and the technical detail that keeps a job on track.
  • Producing and reviewing drawing packages and specifications to a high standard.

Your experience as a Project Architect

  • ARB registered, RIBA Part III qualified.
  • A few years post-Part III, with real experience running your own projects.
  • Confident across the delivery and construction stages, not just concept and planning.
  • Strong Revit, and a solid grasp of UK building regs, the Building Safety Act, and CDM.
  • The kind of communicator clients trust and junior staff learn from.

Why this one:

  • Ownership of projects.
  • A strong, varied workload across the sectors a long-established Cambridge studio tends to attract.
  • A practice that cares about design quality and getting the detail right, with the technical culture to back it up.
  • Clear progression for someone who wants to step up, not coast.
