An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Buyer to join a fast-paced and growing FMCG business with a portfolio of leading household food brands across the UK and Ireland.

This role is ideal for someone with previous buying or procurement experience who is looking to further develop their career within a collaborative and commercially driven procurement team.

The Role

As Junior Buyer, you will support procurement activities across raw materials, packaging, and other key categories, working closely with Senior Buyers and cross-functional teams to ensure quality, value, and continuity of supply across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Category Management

  • Manage a portfolio of spend categories with support from Senior Buyers
  • Conduct market research to understand pricing trends and cost drivers
  • Build supplier profiles and support contingency planning
  • Assist with budget pricing and quarterly category reviews
  • Identify and support delivery of cost-saving initiatives

Supplier Sourcing & Market Research

  • Research and identify potential suppliers
  • Analyse market trends to support purchasing decisions
  • Maintain supplier databases and capability records
  • Support supplier evaluations across quality, cost, and service performance

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain effective supplier relationships
  • Support communication around pricing, quality, and delivery performance
  • Assist with supplier issue resolution and performance monitoring
  • Support stock analysis and demand planning activities

Cost Control & Commercial Support

  • Support supplier negotiations on pricing and commercial terms
  • Assist in managing procurement budgets and reporting savings
  • Monitor and track cost-saving initiatives across categories

About You

  • Previous experience within a procurement, buying, or supply chain role
  • FMCG, retail, or manufacturing experience beneficial
  • Understanding of procurement processes and supplier management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Good Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercially aware with a proactive mindset
  • Collaborative and eager to learn and develop
