Steel Detailer

A leading structural steel contractor in the UK is looking for an experienced Tekla Draughtsman to join their growing team. This hands-on role involves generating 3D models, producing detailed fabrication drawings, and collaborating closely with engineers, clients, and site teams on high-profile construction projects across the UK.

Locations: Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, Durham, Scarborough, West Yorkshire, Dorset

Working Arrangement: Office-based / Hybrid, with remote working considered depending on proximity to office locations

Salary: £45,000–£55,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D Tekla models and General Arrangement (GA) drawings
• Produce fabrication drawings and detail structural steel connections
• Interpret engineer and client drawings to ensure project accuracy
• Work to project deadlines while coordinating with engineers, clients, suppliers, and site teams
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail throughout the detailing process

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in structural steel detailing
• Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures
• Good understanding of structural steel fabrication and construction
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
