Territory Sales Manager – Bakery Ingredients

South East UK

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced sales professional within the bakery ingredients sector to join a fast-paced and growing food business. This role is focused on driving profitable growth across a designated customer territory through strategic account management, new business development, and strong commercial leadership.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering annual GP and EBITDA targets by building long-term customer partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and supporting innovative product development initiatives across the bakery market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a designated portfolio of customers, identifying opportunities to increase revenue and margin
  • Develop sustainable pipelines of new business opportunities within the bakery sector
  • Deliver margin and volume growth while maintaining high levels of customer service
  • Drive effective cashflow management through customer payment performance and commercial controls
  • Lead the implementation of commercial and development strategies across the customer base
  • Analyse bakery market trends to identify growth opportunities and customer needs
  • Manage annual budgets, forecasts, and stock planning activities
  • Support customer negotiations, contract management, and commercial agreements
  • Work collaboratively with technical, regulatory, procurement, sales, and development teams to deliver product innovation and maximise sales opportunities
  • Manage stock underwriting activities to minimise write-offs and commercial risk
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally

Skills & Experience

  • Significant sales experience within the bakery ingredients sector
  • Strong experience in multi-product or portfolio selling
  • Commercially astute with understanding of P&L and balance sheets
  • Proven negotiation and account management experience
  • Project management capability across product, supplier, and customer activities
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience constructing and managing commercial contracts
