Design Coordinator – Facades

We are a growing façade specialist based in Basildon, delivering high-quality façade and cladding solutions across commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Design Coordinator with a strong background in façades to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment and wants to play a key role in delivering technically challenging façade packages from design through to installation.
The Role
As Design Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating façade design activities across multiple projects. You will work closely with architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams to ensure designs are delivered accurately, on programme, and in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate façade and cladding design packages from pre-construction through to delivery
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and technical details
- Liaise with clients, architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors
- Manage design programmes, RFIs, approvals, and technical submissions
- Ensure compliance with current building regulations and industry standards
- Coordinate design changes and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle
- Attend design team meetings and site visits where required
- Support project delivery teams to ensure smooth installation and successful project outcomes
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Design Coordinator role within the façade, cladding, curtain walling, or building envelope sector
- Strong understanding of façade systems and construction detailing
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience coordinating with architects, consultants, and contractors
- Good knowledge of relevant UK building regulations and façade compliance requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and common construction/design software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Desirable
- Knowledge of CWCT standards and façade testing requirements
- Site experience within façade installation projects
