Technical Superintendent (5-Month Contract)

Location: Commutable to Troon

Rate: £34.73 per hour

Hours: 30 hours per week

We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to join our team on a 5-month contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to support the technical management of a high-profile passenger vessel operating within UK waters.

The Role

As Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the vessel. Acting as the key link between ship and shore, you will ensure all technical aspects are managed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and supervision to the vessel’s crew
• Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and company standards
• Manage planned and preventative maintenance systems
• Monitor vessel performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
• Oversee repairs, dry dockings, and contractor activities
• Control technical budgets, including maintenance and spare parts
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are consistently met

About You

• Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent or similar role within the maritime sector
• Strong engineering background (ideally Chief Engineer or shore-based equivalent)
• Experience working with passenger vessels or ferries is highly desirable
• Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with ship and shore teams
• Familiarity with ISM, ISPS, and other regulatory frameworks
