We are partnering with a leading global clinical research organisation to appoint a VP Project Management – Oncology, a senior leadership role driving the strategic delivery of complex oncology clinical programmes globally.

This is a high-impact, client-facing position suited to an experienced project management leader who combines deep oncology expertise with strong operational, financial, and commercial acumen.

The Opportunity

As VP Project Management, you will provide strategic oversight across a diverse oncology portfolio, ensuring exceptional delivery, scientific excellence, and strong client partnerships. You will operate at executive level, influencing both internal strategy and external client success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of oncology clinical trials
  • Act as a senior advisor to clients across the whole engagement life cycle, building and maintaining executive-level relationships
  • Lead governance frameworks, ensuring high-quality delivery, risk mitigation, and performance tracking
  • Drive business growth through proposal development, bid defence, and strategic client engagement
  • Oversee financial performance, including forecasting, profitability, and commercial negotiations
  • Mentor and develop senior project leaders, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Contribute to organisational strategy and innovation initiatives

Your Background

  • Extensive experience in clinical research within a CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment
  • Significant experience within oncology clinical development
  • Proven track record managing large, complex, global clinical programmes
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience influencing business growth
  • Deep understanding of ICH-GCP, regulatory frameworks, and drug development processes
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop senior teams
