Role Overview
We are looking for a Snr Solution Consultant to partner closely with our Commercial teams and customers, providing technical and solution design expertise across partner acquirer multicurrency solutions DCC and MCP, as well as card‑present and e‑commerce payment gateway opportunities across the Americas. This customer‑facing role involves sales support and acting as a bridge between sales, product, engineering, and delivery, helping prospects and clients understand how Planet’s products and solutions can support their business objectives and solve payment challenges.
You will manage the entire solution lifecycle, collaborating with commercial teams and customers to identify opportunities, define requirements, and initiate internal projects and delivery processes. Your efforts will ensure successful implementation and deployment, directly contributing to project outcomes and revenue growth.
What you will do
- Support Commercial teams throughout the sales lifecycle, from discovery through close, for acquirer multi‑currency, integrated payment and e‑commerce opportunities.
- Act as the technical and solutions expert in the region for Planet’s products, integrations, and platform capabilities.
- Lead customer discovery sessions to understand business requirements, technical environments, and integration needs.
- Align the Planet end‑to‑end payment solutions with customer use cases, including DCC, MCP, POS integrations, online checkout flows, and omnichannel experiences.
- Deliver compelling solution presentations and product demonstrations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Respond to RFPs/RFIs and contribute to proposals with solution architectures and technical content.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to provide feedback from the field and influence roadmap priorities.
- Support proof‑of‑concepts and pilot implementations where required.
- Ensure smooth handover from sales to implementation, documenting solution designs and customer requirements.
- Stay current on Planet’s product portfolio, payment technologies, and industry trends.
Who You Are
- Experience in a Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, or Technical Pre‑Sales role within payments.
- Strong technical knowledge or understanding of payment ecosystems, including multi‑currency solutions (DCC and MCP), card‑present payments (Oracle, Shiji, Agilysys, etc.), e‑commerce gateways and online checkout, APIs and system integrations.
- Comfortable engaging with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting enterprise or mid‑market commercial sales teams.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with POS systems, commerce platforms, or hospitality/retail environments is a plus.
- Self‑starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- English and Spanish speaking required.
