Senior Finance Business Partner – Financial Services

Location: Leeds (hybrid – 2–3 days in office)

We’re seeking a commercially focused Senior Finance Business Partner to join a large, highly regulated financial services-related business in Leeds. This is a highly visible role where finance plays a central role in driving commercial performance, strategic decision-making, and long-term growth.

You will act as a key partner to senior commercial and operational leaders, taking ownership of planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across key areas of the business. The role is instrumental in supporting revenue generation, operational delivery, and profitability, providing meaningful challenge and insight to senior stakeholders.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will deliver board-level reporting, lead financial modelling and scenario analysis, and support strategic decision-making from initial commercial opportunities through to ongoing performance and return. You’ll also play an important role in enhancing reporting, improving visibility, and strengthening financial discipline across the wider organisation.

This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in a commercially driven environment and enjoys working at pace, influencing senior stakeholders, and using financial insight to shape real business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior commercial leadership to support investment decisions, financial evaluation, and profitability across key commercial opportunities from initial proposal through full lifecycle performance.
  • Support operational leadership on business performance, delivery targets, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes across designated business areas.
  • Deliver board-level reporting, including preparation of executive packs, commercial insight, and strategic commentary.
  • Provide detailed financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business case support to aid decision-making.
  • Monitor business performance, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Drive performance analysis across revenue streams and operational outputs, ensuring visibility and accountability.
  • Support wider transformation and change initiatives, providing financial challenge and visibility on delivery.
  • Develop strong relationships across finance, commercial, and operational teams to improve decision-making and drive performance.
  • Use data tools and reporting platforms to enhance visibility and improve financial insight.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Strong background in FP&A, commercial finance, or strategic business partnering.
  • Experience supporting senior stakeholders at board or executive level.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability.
  • Confident preparing and presenting board-level insight.
  • Commercial mindset with ability to challenge, influence, and support strategic decisions.
  • Experience in fast-paced, regulated, or complex environments.
  • Advanced Excel essential; experience with Microsoft Power BI highly desirable.
  • Able to operate both strategically and hands-on, balancing long‑term planning with day‑to‑day commercial support.

Why consider it

  • High‑impact senior finance role with direct access to executive leadership.
  • Broad commercial remit influencing both revenue generation and operational performance.
  • Opportunity to shape strategy and support major business decisions.
  • Visible role within a large, established, and market‑leading organisation.
  • Strong blend of strategic finance, commercial partnering, and operational influence.
