Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 Nurse to work as part of the Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Community Learning Disability Team to achieve positive and effective health outcomes for people who have learning disabilities and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist regarding the clinical and therapeutic work of those on the current caseload. The post holder will also be expected to demonstrate professional leadership and lead innovation through change, including service development.
Qualifications
The applicant should be a 1 level Registered Learning Disability Nurse with experience working in both an inpatient and community setting. Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Learning Disabilities will have developed specialist knowledge and competency base for factors affecting mental health of those with learning disabilities. Participation in post‑registration education, supervision and competencies is a requirement. Applicants should have good knowledge of legislation relevant to this client group and evidence advanced communication skills. Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team would be advantageous. A current full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes are required.
