Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Head of Events – Delivery & Systems to lead the successful delivery of FSBs events strategy.

This is a key leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for our online events and webinars, while also overseeing support for local in‑person events through a dedicated team of Event Co‑coordinators. You will play a critical part in ensuring high‑quality event delivery, driving engagement, and maximising commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of FSBs events strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals
  • Manage and develop a team of Event Co‑coordinators to achieve objectives and KPIs
  • Oversee all online events and webinar delivery, ensuring a seamless user experience
  • Manage and optimise the events software platform, resolving issues and working with IT on developments
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including sponsors and partners
  • Support the delivery of in‑person events alongside field teams
  • Develop and maintain event policies, guidance, GDPR compliance and customer processes
  • Maximise income generation, lead generation and member retention through events
  • Handle event‑related enquiries and complaints with a focus on excellent customer service
  • Monitor, analyse and report on event performance and KPIs
  • Manage budgets in line with departmental requirements

About You

You are a strategic thinker with strong leadership capability and a passion for delivering high‑quality events and customer experiences.

Essential experience and skills

  • Proven experience delivering an events strategy at a strategic level, including KPI management
  • Experience managing remote teams effectively
  • Strong background in online events platforms and systems management
  • Experience supporting and delivering in‑person events
  • Competence in management information systems and Microsoft Office
  • Experience handling customer enquiries and resolving complaints
  • Ability to create engaging event marketing content for digital and local channels
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Event management or CMI qualification/training
  • Experience working in a remote or home‑based environment
  • Understanding of the challenges and needs of small businesses

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel across the UK, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for business use.
  • A suitable home office environment aligned to the needs of the role.
  • This role involves working from the Blackpool office two days per week.
