We’re looking for an Engineering Lead who thrives at the intersection of hands-on coding, technical leadership, and fast-moving product delivery.
This is a role for someone who still loves the codebase, but can also step back to own architecture, stability, and team performance in equal measure.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for leading a high-performing engineering team while staying deeply embedded in delivery. This includes:
- Writing production code and leading critical technical implementations
- Owning production stability, incident response, and urgent escalations
- Leading, mentoring, and developing engineers through hands-on leadership
- Designing scalable, serverless-first architectures on AWS
- Driving CI/CD maturity, automation, and safe deployment practices
- Managing cloud infrastructure and optimising cost and performance
- Leading technical delivery with third-party vendors and integration partners
- Improving code quality, security, observability, and system performance
- Using data and usage insights to drive continuous improvement and innovation
What we’re looking for
- Deep understanding of serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, event-driven systems)
- Background in React, modern frontend frameworks, and distributed systems
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and cloud-native delivery
- Strong appreciation for UX and collaboration with design teams
- Proven ability to lead engineers and raise technical standards
