Overview
Startup Solutions Architects work hand in hand with AWS customers to help them make the most of the Cloud. They are at the crossroads of business and technology and engage with startups of different stages. Supporting the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS, they work to understand the customer’s business needs and give prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with technology. Solutions Architects also have broader impact at scale, taking a supporting role in creating and presenting technical content and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to accelerate their projects and recommend best‑practice architectures that align with their long‑term business outcomes.
- Operate as a trusted advisor for startups, shaping guidance based on the best interests of the customer.
- Capture and share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for AWS, and participate in creating or updating technical content and reference architectures such as white papers, code samples, and blog posts.
- Evangelize and educate about AWS technology through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos, and conferences.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military.
- Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
- Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- Experience designing, implementing, or consulting on applications and infrastructures.
- Experience communicating across technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of SAP systems (e.g., SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects) and their architecture and infrastructure needs.
- Experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
- Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
