Job Overview
Urgent Treatment Centre, Whipps Cross (UTC) has an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join a dynamic and diverse team. The post holder will provide compassionate and standard care to people of Waltham Cross, supporting the Trust’s values in all day‑to‑day work.
Responsibilities
- Assess, manage, plan and deliver patient care, ensuring professional and legal accountability.
- Work autonomously as an advanced practitioner within the UTC.
- Perform physical examinations to diagnose undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Assess, treat, refer or discharge patients attending the UTC.
- Recognise emergencies and take appropriate actions.
- Serve as clinical shift lead as per rota.
- Support students and junior health professionals.
- Provide health promotion and safety–netting information to patients and carers.
- Maintain high quality care for all patients and carers.
- Facilitate access to secondary or community care settings when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Current, active registration with a recognised professional organisation (NMC or HCPC).
- Band 7 experience and the ability to work day and night shifts across a 7‑day, 24‑hour service.
- Prior experience in an urgent treatment setting is desirable.
Benefits and Conditions
- Probationary period (internal applicants are exempt unless currently within a probationary period or a bank member of staff).
- High Cost Area Supplement: 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,714 and maximum £5,941).

Additional Information
All new starters will be inducted at the start of a month, receive up to two weeks of comprehensive training, and facilitate engagement with senior management and strategic sessions. Further details are available in the attached job description and person specification.
