Job Description:

We are recruiting a site based HVAC maintenance engineer to support the M&E services maintenance at a brand 7 storey building in Oxford.

This role forms part of a team of two engineers—one mechanical and one electrical—providing PPM, reactive maintenance, and engineering support across a live healthcare environment.

The successful candidate must be an experienced engineer with proven HVAC knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Maintenance

  • Working day shifts – 8 hours, Monday to Friday, you will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across HVAC plant including chillers, AHUs, and air conditioning systems.
  • Carry out isolation, reset, and make safe procedures.
  • Oversee commissioning and mobilisation as the site goes live.
  • Receive full training on specialist NHS and healthcare-specific equipment.

Operational Duties

  • Work closely with the Lead FM and fellow engineer to maintain all building systems.
  • Support performance targets for PPM and reactive SLAs.
  • Operate in a healthcare environment, ensuring compliance and safe working.
  • Use CAFM systems (Job Logic) and building management systems as required.

Standby & Call?Out

  • Participate in a 1 in 2 standby rota. The building is new so call out is expected to be minimal and there is an escalation process.
  • Standby allowance: £140 weekly.
  • Expected call outs: around 2 per month based on similar new build NHS facilities.

Progression & Growth

  • Starting salary of £42k with development opportunities.
  • As the company expands across the new Oxford region, potential progression includes Lead Engineer or wider technical roles.

Candidate Profile

  • Experienced engineer with strong HVAC competence (essential).
  • Comfortable working within healthcare environments (HTM experience beneficial; training provided).
  • Proactive, dependable, and able to support a small engineering team on a flagship healthcare site.
  • Available to start as soon as possible.

Package

  • Salary: £42,000 with development opportunities.
  • Standby allowance: £140/week
  • Typical call outs: approx. 2/month
  • 24 days holiday plus bank holiday bank days off
