Quality Assurance Technician – Baileys Irish Cream

Contract: 24‑month fixed‑term contract/secondment

About the Role
This role is based at our Bailey’s Packaging site in Mallusk, Northern Ireland, and sits within a shift team. The role covers the entire process from intake and processing of raw ingredients through to bottling and shipping of finished goods. As a Quality Assurance Technician you will ensure all manufactured goods are produced according to quality specifications and comply with government regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all manufactured goods are produced according to quality specifications and compliant with government regulations and standards.
- Complete, monitor and interpret all analytical, chemical and microbiological tests (including sending samples to external lab) and monitor checks to ensure compliance across the whole process.
- Ensure all plant quality‑assurance equipment is calibrated and maintained and that ideal routine quality checks are carried out at required frequencies.
- Liaise with suppliers on material issues.
- Train process, bottling and warehouse operators in conducting routine quality checks according to procedure and compliance of results to specifications.
- Investigate consumer and customer complaints regarding product quality and ensure corrective action is taken.
Qualifications & Experience
- Third‑level degree in a food‑related science or equivalent.
- High level of IT skills in particular Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to use initiative under pressure.
- FMGC experience desirable.
- Ability to complete and maintain documentation and system records accurately.
- Great “can‑do” attitude with excellent communication skills.
- A keen team player within and across teams who can lead on work activities, including manufacturing excellence projects.
- Motivated self‑starter capable of learning in a fast‑paced environment.
- Flexibility within a shift working environment.
