Location: commuteable to Derby (typical projects from Leeds to Milton Kingston)

Remuneration: £40,000 – £50,000

Role Overview

A Quantity Surveyor in Painting & Decorating, responsible for commercial painting and decorating projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, quotations and tender submissions including labour, materials, prelims and programme considerations.
• Liaise with Site / Contract Managers to ensure each project runs successfully.
• Update any changes to the agreed contract scope.
• Build strong working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Manage up to 20 projects at one time, varying in size from £20k to £500k.

Qualifications

• Experience in Quantity Surveying within decorating, painting, dry lining, finishing or fit‑out sectors.
• Preferably from a sub‑contractor background with commercial project experience.
• Good technical knowledge and understanding of industry processes, materials, and costs.
• Highly organised with good attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Full UK driving licence.
