About The Role
The Department of Computer Science seeks to appoint a permanent Programme Assistant to provide administrative support to our undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses. You will be the first point of contact for programme‑related queries and support the delivery of an outstanding teaching and learning experience for all students. The role requires flexibility to support departmental events and examinations, including some that may be on a Saturday, and participation in student events such as Welcome Week, inductions and graduation.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Act as the first point of contact for programme‑related queries from staff and students.
- Support the delivery of teaching and learning experience for all students.
- Assist with departmental events and examinations, including Saturday sessions.
- Participate in student events such as Welcome Week, induction sessions and graduation activities.
Qualifications
- At least GCSE level (grade C or above) in Mathematics and English.
- Strong communication skills and an inclusive, conscientious approach with staff and students.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- IT skills essential; training will be provided.
About the Department
We are a highly ranked, research‑intensive Computer Science Department, joint 4th in the UK (REF 2021). The department offers a collaborative environment and hybrid working arrangements (3 days a week on campus for full‑time staff).
