Role Overview
The role is responsible for the financial management of sites within the Yorkshire region, based at our office in York. You will use effective controls and produce reports that enable senior management to assess site status.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage up to three or four sites of varying complexity, setting budgets, producing bi‑monthly valuations (CVRs), appointing subcontractors, and making payments to maintain close cost control.
- Process weekly and monthly payments efficiently, resolve disputes, and provide an accurate picture of site financial status.
- Produce site valuations on a bi‑monthly basis and present them to the Board of Directors, indicating any variation from budgeted figures.
- Negotiate optimal rates for subcontract appointments to maximise margins.
- Use the Persimmon Group COINS system to set up new sites, establish budgets, and predict site profitability for financial planning verification.
- Coordinate with other departments (Construction, Sales, Customer Care, Accounts) to ensure sites run efficiently.
- Comply with the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment policy and promote safety across the team.
- When deputising for the Manager, allocate tasks and verify quality to ensure completion to company standards.
- Mentor and train junior team members, developing their skills to enable them to take on increased responsibility.
- Assist the Commercial Manager on key business decisions and attend regular regional meetings as the relevant subject expert.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of an HND/HNC in building-related studies.
- Previous experience in the UK residential house‑building sector.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to oversee multiple projects at different development stages, with exceptional project and time‑management skills.
