Business Development Executive – North West

North West England (Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire & Cumbria)Permanent | Full-time (40 hours per week)£36,000 – £40,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Uncapped Bonus

Perform Recruitment is proud to partner with a well-established and growing organisation in the freight, logistics, and supply chain sector to recruit a driven Business Development Executive.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional who thrives on winning new business, building strong relationships, and driving revenue growth across a key regional territory.

The Opportunity

As a Business Development Executive, you will take ownership of developing new business opportunities across the North West, offering tailored freight and logistics solutions across multiple transport modes.

This is a hybrid role aligned to a Manchester office, with a strong emphasis on client‑facing activity and regional travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across the region
  • Build, manage, and convert a strong sales pipeline
  • Develop an in‑depth understanding of client needs to offer tailored logistics solutions
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients
  • Conduct regular face‑to‑face meetings (minimum 3 days per week)
  • Accurately track activity and opportunities within the CRM system
  • Negotiate commercial terms while ensuring minimal risk to the business
  • Collaborate with internal teams and international partners to deliver solutions
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline analysis
  • Carry out due diligence on prospective clients

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a business development or sales role (freight/logistics preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of import/export and multimodal transport operations
  • Proven ability to generate new business and achieve targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Right to work in the UK
