Overview

London Museum is recruiting two Project Assistants (Archaeology) to join our Archaeological Archive team. This is a great opportunity for early‑career applicants with experience working with archaeological collections and an interest in collections management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve and expand our archaeological collections data for objects and human remains.
  • Build new digital assets and address documentation backlogs.
  • Resolve legacy inventory issues and assist with new depositions.
  • Facilitate research access to the archive.

Qualifications

  • Background in archaeology with experience in cataloguing and collections management.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, including confined spaces and roller racking.
  • Prepared to wear full protective equipment for certain tasks.
  • Goal‑driven, able to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills and the ability to work across the organisation.
