Driver Trainer – HubsPlease note that this role is fixed term for 6 months.Role PurposeWe are looking for a dedicated and experienced Driver Assessor to deliver high-quality training, assessments, and development across our Hub operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring both new and existing drivers are compliant with UK legislation while promoting safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the transport network.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver driver training and assessments, including: Inductions Shunter and banksman training Double deck operations Telematics coaching Maintain high compliance standards, including auditing and quality checking documentation Coach and support drivers across the UK network to drive continuous improvement Maintain and audit driver files, ensuring all legal and training records are up to date Conduct driver and fleet checks and monitor KPIs Address non-compliance through coaching and corrective actions Collaborate with Operations, Agencies, Fleet, and L&D teams Deliver training on new equipment and operational practices Support incident and accident investigations Assist with site start-ups, providing driver training support Promote continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and service performance Ensure all training aligns with legislation and company policies Conduct compliance audits and site risk assessments Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholdersWhat We’re Looking ForQualifications Full Cat C+E (articulated) LGV driving licence (essential)Knowledge & Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Logistics / Transport industry Proven experience delivering driver training and assessments in a fast-paced environment Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and transport systemsTechnical & People Skills In-depth knowledge of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations Understanding of Working Time and Road Transport Directive Excellent presentation and coaching skills Ability to deliver engaging face-to-face training sessions Strong attention to detail and compliance focusImpact & Influence Ability to drive continuous improvement collaboratively Experience improving performance across cost, service, compliance, and safety Strong cross-functional collaboration skills Ability to create and improve Safe Systems of WorkRole Details Reporting to: Lead Driver Assessor Location: Hubs (UK-wide support required) Key Stakeholders: Drivers, Transport Operations, Fleet, H&S, L&D Financial Responsibility: N/AWhy Join Us?This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping driver standards, safety, and efficiency across a national transport network.
