We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Yorkshire Region, working across West Yorkshire sites: HMP Leeds (category B remand), HMP Wakefield (category A high secure), and HMP Wealstun (category C). Working across multiple sites offers a varied work schedule and patient group. In this role you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team across all three sites, including other psychiatrists.
Hours: 40 hours per week. Split: 2 sessions at HMP Leeds, 3 at Wakefield, 3 at Wealstun, 2 CPD day sessions. Part‑time arrangements via job share are possible.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the case load onsite.
- Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and provide clinical supervision.
- Work within the multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi‑professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications
- Registered professional with current registration (GMC).
- Specialist registration in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry.
- Approved under Section 12(2) of the MHS 1983.
- Understanding of the complexities of multidisciplinary and multi‑agency working.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD.
- Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation.
