Head of Direct Procurement — FMCG Growth & Innovation

Overview

This role will lead the direct procurement strategy for the business, with responsibility for negotiations, tenders, and supporting new product launches. Our client is a high growth FMCG business, looking for someone with a strategic procurement background, FMCG knowledge, and strong leadership skills.

Description

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and deliver procurement strategy, policies, and processes.
• Lead and develop the procurement team.
• Define and execute sourcing and category strategies, including tenders and supplier negotiations.
• Drive cost savings, risk mitigation, and margin improvements.
• Partner cross-functionally to influence decisions and improve performance through data, insights, and continuous improvement.

Profile

The successful candidate would have:

• Strong experience within direct FMCG procurement, ideally ingredient or commodity categories.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver sourcing strategies, run tenders, and achieve cost savings.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Proactive, hands‑on team player, able to manage multiple priorities and operate both strategically and in detail.
