Head of Service Finance (HCW)
This role provides 12‑month maternity cover for the Head of Finance team supporting Housing, Care and Wellbeing. You will oversee a net budget of £120m and lead the financial planning and delivery of key services such as Adult Social Care, Homelessness and the Housing division

Location: Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove, BN3 3BQ
Salary: £68,949 – £75,505Contract: 37 hours, flexible work basis
Responsibilities
Support the development and delivery of the organisation’s key financial objectives and outcomes. Provide strategic financial planning and advice to front‑facing services, and contribute to the overall performance and sustainability of the Financial team.
- Produce, manage and monitor large and complex budgets
- Advise service delivery teams on financial planning and respond to service needs
- Communicate financial information clearly and accessibly to a wide range of audiences
- Use spreadsheets and financial systems to support effective financial management and reporting
- Build inclusive working relationships across teams and services
Qualifications
- Professional qualification in finance/accounting or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in a similar senior finance leadership role
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
