Project Director – Human Capital Transaction Advisory Services

Are you a seasoned Human Capital professional with complementary expertise gained in large-scale, M&A due diligence?

Are you keen to join and play a pivotal role within a prominent, specialist practice where you’ll take the lead on a variety of projects and advisory services in the pre-acquisition and post-deal M&A environments?

If so, then we’d love to hear from you in connection with this phenomenal new opportunity with Aon’s dynamic M&A Transactions Solutions (AMATS) practice . This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our flagship London office.

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

  • Leading end to end Human Capital engagements across full deal life cycle including due-diligence and implementation/integration advisory projects for private equity and corporate clients in support of their M&A processes.
  • Driving project management engagement including preparing client proposals.
  • Collaborating closely with clients and other top tier advisers.
  • Coordinating internal Aon expertise, resources and solutions across various practices and geographies and building an internal network.
  • Determining opportunities for cross-selling other Aon products, services, and solutions.
  • Facilitating post-close implementation opportunities in our wider business.

How this opportunity is different

What makes this role truly different is the breadth, visibility and impact. You’ll sit at the heart of high‑profile M&A transactions, advising private equity and blue‑chip corporate clients on their most complex people challenges, while working in a genuinely multidisciplinary environment. This is not a narrow due‑diligence role — it’s a leadership opportunity where your expertise shapes deal outcomes, unlocks post‑close value and builds long‑term client relationships, all within a fast‑growing, collaborative AMATS team that actively invests in your development and empowers you to lead with confidence.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Demonstrable experience supporting M&A transactions, including HR due-diligence, integration, and post-deal harmonisation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee benefits and total rewards, focusing on the UK/EMEA and exposure to global programmes.
  • Ability to analyse sophisticated qualitative and quantitative data and translate it into clear, commercially relevant insights.
  • Combines attention to detail with the ability to think strategically and advise at a deal level.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage and influence senior collaborators and clients.
  • Experience with pension and benefits structures, including Defined Benefit schemes and relevant financial standards (e.g. IAS19 / ASC 715), with desirable actuarial or C&B qualifications.
