Education Solicitor

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority who are recruiting for an Education Solicitor to join their growing team on a 3 month (minimum) locum contract.

This is a full-time (37 hours per week) position with a negotiable hourly rate (circa £50 – £60 p/hour UMB) and the start date is subject to notice. If a candidate is able to attend office, that will be advantageous, but they are able to consider fully remote options.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Managing a caseload of SEN Tribunal matters, including appeals relating to EHCPs, placements, and provision disputes
• Providing specialist legal advice on a broad range of education law matters
• Preparing cases for Tribunal hearings, including drafting pleadings and legal submissions
• Undertaking remote advocacy at SEND Tribunal hearings
• Advising clients and stakeholders on statutory duties, compliance, and developments in education law

Requirements:

• Experience working in local government
• Extensive knowledge of education law

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week
• Will consider part-time options
• Monday – Friday, flexible start/finish times
