You will be a senior presence on the floor, helping to maintain high standards of care and education, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily running of your room, ensuring a high‑quality EYFS learning environment
- Plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
- Observe, assess, and track children’s progress, keeping learning journeys up to date
- Act as a key person, building strong relationships with children and their families
- Support, mentor, and role‑model best practice for junior practitioners in your room
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment at all times
Qualifications
- Level 3 Early Years qualification – Essential
- Proven experience in a room leader, senior practitioner, or key person role within an EYFS setting
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, child development, and safeguarding
- Confident communicator with families and wider childcare teams
- Passionate about delivering outstanding, child‑centred care and education
