Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior test analyst to join the ICT Test team to run and manage testing activities for all applications and systems either being put into production or being upgraded according to the defined test strategy and approach. The role will involve creating test plans, developing test scripts, test metrics, test reports, executing tests and recording outcomes for various clinical systems. Ability to work independently under high pressure and commit to delivering tight deadlines is required.

Main Duties

  • Support the test team and ICT department in safe deployment of software changes to the Trust’s clinical and non-clinical departmental systems.
  • Create test plans, develop test scripts, define test metrics, produce test reports, execute tests and record outcomes for various clinical systems.
  • Write, maintain and execute test cases, log defects, retest defects and report execution status.
  • Systematically test all changes prior to deployment to ensure conformity to specification and safety for production deployment.
  • Work primarily at Paddington hospital site and travel across all NWL ICB sites as required.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Graduate Degree
  • Practical experience in a software testing environment.
  • Experience of working in NHS or a healthcare company on healthcare systems.
  • Experience creating and executing test scripts for Oracle Cerner EPR applications or similar healthcare EPR solution.
  • Team lead or coordinating with internal and external teams.
  • Experience reviewing and testing change requests.
  • Experience logging, retesting and managing defects in a defect management system.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of software testing methodologies (Agile, V, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows (Inpatient, Outpatients, ED).
  • Ability to plan the test cycle from requirements review to execution with accurate time estimates.

Desirable:

  • ISTQB Foundation Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with HL7 messaging.
  • Working knowledge of Cerner Oracle EPR applications (PMOffice, Powerchart, Firstnet).
