Reading – Crawley region; £60,000 to £80,000 DoE + Benefits

This highly respected market‑leading software company produces state‑of‑the‑art modelling tools used by hundreds of multinational companies in the energy sector. They are expanding into new industry sectors and are seeking to hire a Software Engineer with expertise in advanced AI/ML solutions within production software.

As part of a newly formed AI team, you would play a key role designing, developing, and deploying new software features with AI functionality into their current desktop and web software tools. You will understand the importance of security and compliance for industrial applications and be comfortable with structured and unstructured data for ML-guided inference. As a senior engineer, you will provide technical leadership and project ownership while working effectively as part of a team. Your experience will allow you to understand software problems irrespective of technology stack and version specifics.

Requirements

  • First or second degree in computer science or similar, ideally with a relevant postgraduate degree.
  • Extensive demonstrable experience as a software engineer, with confidence as a senior-level contributor. Past projects include multiple instances of architecting, developing, and maintaining production software for scalable AI applications.
  • Hands‑on coding skills with a broad range of technologies including C++ and/or C#. Additional Python familiarity is expected.
  • Specific experience developing robust APIs with AI integration.

The role is based fully onsite at their newly refurbished offices. Parking is available.
