Position Summary
Applications are invited for at least 6 months Trust Doctor (ST5+) in Gynaecological Oncology at Royal London Hospital to commence as soon as possible.
Training in the surgical management of gynaecological malignancies, together with non‑surgical management including medical oncology, radiotherapy and palliative care will be provided within the context of the Gynaecology Oncology Team.
Responsibilities
- Pre‑operative assessment, intra‑operative management and post‑operative care of all patients with gynaecological cancer.
- Attend at least one gynaecological oncology list each week.
- Attend weekly gynaecological oncology clinics and Rapid Access clinics.
- Conduct a colposcopy clinic under consultant supervision.
- Co‑ordinate the daily ward rounds with the junior medical staff, in partnership with the other subspecialty fellow.
- Co‑ordinate the weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, present patient details and implement management plans post‑MDT.
- Participate in the Barts Health NHS Trust medical audit programme and attend the department’s monthly audit meetings.
Qualifications
- Completed at least ST5 of higher training or equivalent.
- Prior experience in gynaecology oncology.
- No training approved for this position.
- For applicants outside the Deanery, approval for out‑of‑programme training must be obtained and application discussed with the training programme director.
