Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Security Consultant to lead client engagements focused on data protection and risk management. You will apply deep knowledge of data security technologies, frameworks, and maturity models to assess vulnerabilities and design robust remediation strategies. Your role will involve conducting workshops and interviews with IT and business executives to define business drivers and develop data security programmes. You will lead incident response efforts and provide guidance to clients on improving their overall security posture. You will also help establish best practices for governance, compliance, and continuous security improvement. This is a dynamic consulting role that combines technical expertise with strategic advisory capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead data security assessments, interviews, and workshops with clients.
- Analyse complex security incidents and define remediation strategies.
- Develop data security programmes, policies, and roadmaps.
- Advise clients on risk mitigation and compliance alignment.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Required technical and professional expertise
- Strong expertise in data security technologies and frameworks.
- Proven ability to assess and resolve security incidents.
- Experience designing and implementing security strategies and programmes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Deep understanding of data governance, risk, and compliance.
This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personal Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NVS) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Familiarity with cloud security models and data encryption techniques.
- Experience implementing data protection solutions in enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, PCI DSS, or HIPAA.
- Background in data privacy and information assurance consulting.
