Job Description:

As a Junior User Researcher at Capgemini Invent, you will join the Digital Excellence community, collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, developers, and other User Researchers to deliver cutting‑edge user‑centred digital services. You will be responsible for planning and conducting high‑impact research that deepens understanding of our clients’ users, and for communicating findings to stakeholders in an actionable manner.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, developers, and other User Researchers to plan and conduct high‑impact research.
  • Manage and support research activities, recommending effective methodologies based on project environment.
  • Research inclusively with a wide range of users, including those with additional needs and hard‑to‑reach groups.
  • Consider the end‑to‑end user journey and external factors that may impact the user experience from business, policy, and technical perspectives.
  • Communicate research findings to teams and stakeholders in an actionable and effective manner that supports empathy building.
  • Develop your user research skills while receiving regular guidance and training to grow as a consultant.

Qualifications – Required

  • Interest in user research and user‑centred design, with self‑led learning.
  • Hands‑on experience with a range of research methods and knowledge of when to apply them.
  • Experience planning and conducting qualitative studies such as remote and in‑person interviews, observations, diary studies, concept testing, and usability studies.
  • Familiarity with quantitative methods such as surveys.
  • Experience or understanding of working with Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards and GDS design principles.
  • Strong storytelling, communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
  • Awareness of agile delivery methods.
  • Active SC (Security Check) clearance or eligibility for SC clearance.

Qualifications – Preferred

  • Previous experience conducting research or working in a research‑focused role in a professional setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, anthropology, Human‑Computer Interaction or related user‑experience disciplines.
  • Loving learning and seeking opportunities to develop skills in parallel with client needs.
  • Experience or interest in accessibility testing or inclusive design principles.
