Job Description:

Adecco are recruiting on behalf of BD Group for an experienced Corporate Risk Manager to join their growing Legal & Compliance function.

Office is based in Dagenham – The Cube. Ideally a hybrid role, but remote can be considered. Permanent | Full-Time. £70,000 per annum.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with senior leaders to ensure risks are identified, understood, and effectively managed. You’ll play a key role in shaping and embedding a strong risk culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management & Governance

  • Lead and operate the enterprise‑wide risk management framework across BD Group
  • Develop and embed risk, governance, and assurance strategies
  • Maintain corporate, functional, and project risk registers
  • Provide clear, insightful reporting and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Support risk appetite definition, stress testing, and business continuity planning
  • Monitor regulatory and external developments impacting organisational risk

Assurance & Compliance

  • Deliver targeted risk assurance, testing control effectiveness and identifying improvements
  • Collaborate with audit, counter‑fraud, and compliance teams to deliver integrated assurance
  • Build strong relationships with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and strong governance standards

Organisational Capability & Culture

  • Build risk awareness and capability across the organisation through training and coaching
  • Facilitate risk governance forums and decision‑making processes
  • Support transformation initiatives to modernise risk and assurance processes
  • Champion innovation, digital tools, and smarter ways of working

About You

We are looking for a confident and proactive risk professional who can influence decision‑making at a senior level.

  • Have experience in risk management, governance, audit, or compliance
  • Be confident in advising and challenging senior stakeholders
  • Be able to translate complex risks into practical solutions
  • Have experience improving or embedding risk frameworks and processes
  • Be highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities

Desirable

  • Experience in a Local Authority or similar environment
  • Knowledge of procurement risk, particularly within public sector settings
