Material Resources Ltd is a growing SME specialising in the water industry. Following the recent award of two significant contracts with Thames Water, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to lead these projects alongside our ongoing works.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a developing business, with real scope to influence project delivery and operational success.

The Role

You will take full responsibility for managing multiple contracts, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the delivery of two major Thames Water contracts, existing and new works

• Managing project programs, budgets, and resources

• Leading site teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient performance

• Maintaining strong client relationships, particularly with Thames Water

• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, environmental, and industry regulations

• Producing regular financial and progress reports

• Identifying risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong operational experience with commercial awareness and leadership skills.

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Contract Manager (or similar role) within the water or utilities sector

• Strong knowledge of contract management and project delivery

• Excellent communication and client management skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Financial awareness, including budgeting and cost control

Desirable:

Experience working with Thames Water or similar frameworks

Relevant qualifications in construction, engineering, or project management

Expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and management

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills

Excellent knowledge of CDM, RAMS and compliance practices

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships effectively

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Prior experience in contract management highly desirable

SMSTS or equivalent health & safety certification
