An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estates Operations Manager to lead the delivery of safe, compliant and value-for-money estates maintenance services across the Trust. Based at York Hospital, you will provide specialist technical leadership across mechanical, electrical and building/fabric infrastructure, managing in‑house teams and coordinating key specialist contractors to ensure high‑quality planned and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day estates operations and maintenance strategy across mechanical, electrical and building/fabric services.
  • Manage and develop in‑house maintenance teams and key specialist contractors, ensuring performance, quality and compliance.
  • Oversee CAFM/asset registers, Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules, records and certification to support statutory and mandatory compliance.
  • Support governance and assurance including audits, risk register updates, PAM/ERIC returns and contractor control (including permits to work).
  • Contribute to budget management, procurement/contract compliance (SFIs) and delivery of minor works and improvement schemes.
  • Participate in the Estates management on‑call rota, providing out‑of‑hours advice and support.
