Conference and Events Operations Manager

£37,739.52 per annum, 40 hours per week (5 days).

We’re looking for an experienced Conference and Events Operations Manager to oversee our events department, ensuring high standards and memorable guest experiences every time. This role combines strategy, operations, and team development to deliver outstanding results.

About the Role

As Conference and Events Operations Manager, you’ll take ownership of the events department, leading your team to exceed service expectations while managing budgets, sales targets, and operational standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager and General Manager, you’ll drive our brand values and customer‑focused approach while ensuring budgeted profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the events department, ensuring an exceptional guest experience and a professional team image.
  • Oversee budgets, financial targets, and forecasts, tracking departmental revenue, costs, and profitability.
  • Ensure effective stock control and payroll management, aligning resources with business needs.
  • Drive a culture of service excellence, addressing feedback, reviewing customer reports, and improving standards.
  • Train, develop, and mentor your team, conducting performance reviews and fostering career growth.
  • Maximise sales through promotional initiatives, departmental selling culture, and proactive engagement with guests.
  • Maintain compliance with all Health and Safety, food safety, and security standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in events or hospitality management with proven leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, client focus, and financial acumen.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings as events demand.
