Senior HV Electrical Engineer

Overview

An excellent opportunity for a skilled Senior HV Electrical Engineer to join a growing team and play a key role in delivering innovative electrical design solutions across major infrastructure projects.

You will work with a range of clients and stakeholders within a rapidly evolving energy sector.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design and owner's engineering of high-voltage substations and grid development projects.
  • Review HV plant designs, including layouts, earthing, interlocking, and specifications.
  • Assess detailed designs for compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation (schematics, SLDs, layouts).
  • Provide expertise on HV cables, substations, and overhead line systems.
  • Support projects across all lifecycle stages.
  • Contribute to emerging technologies such as energy storage and smart grids.
  • Support tendering and technical proposal preparation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Chartered status (or working towards) preferred.
  • Experience in HV substation design (110kV–400kV).
  • Strong knowledge of transmission/distribution standards.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead technical workstreams.
