Senior HV Electrical Engineer
Overview
An excellent opportunity for a skilled Senior HV Electrical Engineer to join a growing team and play a key role in delivering innovative electrical design solutions across major infrastructure projects.
You will work with a range of clients and stakeholders within a rapidly evolving energy sector.
Role Responsibilities
- Design and owner's engineering of high-voltage substations and grid development projects.
- Review HV plant designs, including layouts, earthing, interlocking, and specifications.
- Assess detailed designs for compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare and review technical documentation (schematics, SLDs, layouts).
- Provide expertise on HV cables, substations, and overhead line systems.
- Support projects across all lifecycle stages.
- Contribute to emerging technologies such as energy storage and smart grids.
- Support tendering and technical proposal preparation.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Chartered status (or working towards) preferred.
- Experience in HV substation design (110kV–400kV).
- Strong knowledge of transmission/distribution standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead technical workstreams.
