We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Support Worker (Waking Night) for our home in Grappenhall, Warrington, where we support 6 Children with autism and learning disabilities providing high-quality care and life-enriching opportunities to the people we support.
Our Grappenhall, children’s home has contributed to helping a number of children aged 7-18 years old make significant progress and get the best out of life.
As a Support Worker (Waking Night), you will empower and promote independence in the people we support during the night, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. You will lead by example, maintaining the highest standards of care and providing guidance to the team on shift. Your role will include monitoring individuals throughout the night, accurately recording any achievements, health observations, outcomes, and concerns. You will also develop strong relationships with the team and the people we support to ensure a calm, positive night-time environment and the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care and support during night shifts.
- Monitor health and well-being, completing all required records accurately.
- Respond to emergencies and call on sleep-in staff when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing environment and uphold safeguarding policies.
- Support continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Complete night-time duties, including cleaning and monitoring tasks.
What we’re looking for
Level 3 diploma in residential childcare, or be willing to work towards 4

Strong teamwork and communication skills
Experience in care is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
