Administrative Officer – Public Sector Craigavon £14.12 per hour 37 hours per week Fixed-term contract until 31 August (with possible extension)
Ashton Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Administrative Officer on behalf of our public sector client based in Craigavon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a busy and supportive team within a well-established organisation.
The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative support across a fast-paced department, supporting day-to-day operations, customer service, financial administration, reporting, and coordination duties.
Duties will include:
- Providing comprehensive administrative support including document preparation, database management, filing, reports, and correspondence
- Acting as a first point of contact for telephone and email enquiries
- Supporting the management of maintenance requests and internal helpdesk systems
- Scheduling meetings and taking accurate notes/minutes
- Processing purchase orders, invoices, and financial records
- Assisting with reporting, audits, and data analysis
- Supporting complaints handling and Freedom of Information requests
- Liaising with internal departments, contractors, and members of the public
- Maintaining confidential and sensitive records in line with procedures
Essential Criteria:
- 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent
- At least 1 year’s relevant administrative experience including:
- Word processing
- Data input
- Minute taking
- Record keeping
- Administration of invoices/accounts
- Handling confidential information
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure
Desirable:
- 2 years’ relevant administrative experience in a similar environment
This role may also require a satisfactory Basic Access NI check prior to appointment.
