Role Description

As the Co-Founder or Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Sixth Lab, you will lead the development and implementation of our cutting‑edge products, including hardware, software, and data science strategies. You will oversee the growth and direction of the technological aspects of the company, and work closely with the CEO and other stakeholders to align technology with business goals. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include driving product development, managing engineering teams, building scalable infrastructure, ensuring adherence to medical device regulations, and conducting rigorous R&D. This is a hands‑on on‑site role based in London, and will require leadership, technical expertise, entrepreneurial mindset, and a passion for turning ideas into reality.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in hardware design and development, particularly in wearable technology or medical devices.
  • Proven expertise in Sensor Fusion, including work with Gaze Tracking, Vocal Acoustics, and HRV data.
  • Proficiency in software development, Edge AI, and privacy‑first on‑device data processing.
  • Strong understanding of clinical and regulatory frameworks, particularly those applicable to medical devices under NHS or Class IIa Medical Device standards.
  • Exceptional leadership experience in building and managing multidisciplinary teams in startups or innovation‑driven environments.
  • Proven ability to translate R&D innovations into market‑ready products.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and strategizing product roadmaps.
  • Background in engineering, computer science, robotics, neuroscience, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
