Position Summary
Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist to join a rapidly expanding anaesthetic department working across the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough sites in Cardiff.
Scope of Role
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the general work of the Department, including cover for Consultant colleagues where practical, and work flexibly to maintain skilled consultant cover for emergency service provision.

Sessions are available in a variety of surgical disciplines:
- Geneal
- Vascular
- Neuro
- Urology
- Orthopaedics
- ENT Head and Neck
- Ophthalmology
- Trauma
- Major Trauma
- Breast
- Thrombectomy
- Gynaecological Surgery
Academic Expectations
Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University’s Wales College of Medicine will be expected.
Application Requirements
Applicants should be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Anaesthetics or be within six months of award of a CCT at the time of interview. A satisfactory disclosure check will be required of the successful applicant. Although the post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.
