Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Monday – Friday

Salary: £60,000 – £68,000 per annum

A prestigious housing developer with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality homes seeks an experienced Site Manager for a new build housing project in the West Midlands. The ideal candidate is hardworking, personable and demonstrates excellent teamwork skills.

Job Duties

  • Manage day-to-day operations on site, ensuring all activities comply with health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and site operatives to maintain progress and quality of work.
  • Monitor site budgets and resources, controlling costs and ensuring efficient use of materials and labour.
  • Ensure all works are completed on schedule and to the required specification, liaising closely with project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, timesheets and site diaries.
  • Support the delivery of new build housing projects from groundworks through to completion, adhering to traditional construction methods.
  • Promote a positive working environment and foster strong relationships with site teams and external parties.

Required Qualifications

  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate.
  • Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Full, clean driving licence.

Experience

  • Proven experience managing traditional new build housing sites.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers and site teams in a dynamic environment.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, health and safety legislation and quality standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Competence in using site management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily site-based role requiring regular visits to construction locations within the West Midlands area.
  • Full-time hours, with occasional requirement for extended hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Provision of a company car or car allowance, fuel allowance and other benefits including private pension scheme, private healthcare and life assurance.
  • Work involves exposure to typical construction site conditions including outdoor environments, varying weather conditions and use of personal protective equipment.
