Role Description

This is a contract role for a Performance Development Head Coach (2XI) with Edinburgh University Men’s Hockey Club, based on-site in Edinburgh. The primary responsibilities include coaching and developing the 2XI team to achieve enhanced performance levels, creating training plans, assessing player performance, and implementing targeted development strategies. The role involves managing the team during matches, fostering strong teamwork, collaborating with other coaches, and ensuring alignment with the Club’s overall strategy. Additional duties may include coordinating resources to deliver a cohesive and structured player development program.

  • Lead Men’s 2XI training and matchday programme
  • Deliver 2 training sessions per week (Mondays and Thursdays), totalling approximately 4 hours per week
  • Attend the vast majority of Saturday Scottish Hockey fixtures
  • Availability for Wednesday BUCS fixtures, where possible
  • Strong organisational, communication, and athlete management skills
