We are seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Tax Manager to support and evolve our growing global tax function. Reporting to the Associate Director of Tax, this role combines hands‑on tax compliance and tax accounting responsibilities with the opportunity to modernise and enhance the tax function through automation, improved processes, and strong business partnering.
The successful candidate will take ownership of day‑to‑day tax compliance and reporting, while also playing a key role in building a best‑in‑class tax function. This includes driving efficiencies through automation, improving data quality, upskilling finance and operational stakeholders, and embedding robust tax controls across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review and submission of all corporate tax returns, including UK Corporation Tax (including VGTR/creative industry reliefs and Patent Box), US federal and state filings, and other international tax obligations, working with external advisors as necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review and submission of VAT and global indirect tax returns (including a mixture of in‑house prepared returns and review of externally prepared returns).
- Manage tax payments and cash tax forecasting.
- Support tax audits, enquiries and disputes, preparing responses and coordinating with external advisors where required.
- Maintain oversight of transfer‑pricing policies and documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
Tax Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions and tax calculations.
- Ensure accurate tax‑related disclosures in statutory accounts and group reporting.
- Reconcile tax balances and ensure integrity between tax and financial reporting systems.
- Partner closely with Financial Reporting and Finance Operations teams to ensure strong controls and clean data flows.
- Provide clear and well‑documented analysis to support external audit requirements.
Tax Function Evolution & Automation
- Support the Associate Director of Tax in defining and delivering the long‑term tax roadmap.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes within tax compliance, provisioning and reporting.
- Improve data extraction and analysis processes, leveraging advanced Excel and financial systems capabilities.
- Enhance tax controls, documentation and governance frameworks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to create scalable, efficient and well‑controlled tax processes.
- Evaluate and implement tax technology solutions where appropriate.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted tax business partner to finance, game development, commercial and operational teams.
- Proactively identify tax risks and planning opportunities.
- Provide clear, practical guidance to non‑tax stakeholders on tax implications of commercial decisions.
- Upskill finance and relevant business teams to improve tax awareness and understanding.
- Collaborate effectively with external advisors to deliver project‑based work and specialist advice.

What we’re looking for:
- ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified (or equivalent).
- Strong UK corporate tax experience, ideally with exposure to international tax matters.
- Excellent tax accounting knowledge under IFRS, including preparation / review of group tax provisions.
- Advanced Excel skills (including complex modelling, data manipulation and analysis).
- Experience reviewing VAT and indirect tax returns.
- Strong understanding of tax controls and governance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to “roll up sleeves” and improve processes.
- Comfortable operating in a growing, evolving environment.
