Job Summary

PrePrepare Family Practitioner – fixed term contract until 31/03/2027. Based at Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre.

Salary: £34,452 – £40,501 (pro-rata for part-time). Hours: 33 per week over 5 days (Monday-Friday).

Responsibilities

The post-holder will undertake the full range of duties working with children who need protection, are looked after or are children in need, together with their families/carers. The role involves:

  • Building positive relationships and working in a strengths-based and restorative way.
  • Identifying outcomes needed to keep children safe and developing plans that improve wellbeing for children and their families/carers.

Location & Travel

The position is part of the PrePrepare Team, a multi-disciplinary team in partnership with NHS Lothian, Health and Social Care, and Communities and Families. Staff must be willing to travel city-wide as services are provided across Edinburgh.

Qualifications & Checks

  • Regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • Required to join or update the PVG Scheme. If you have spent 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will also be required.
